Why You Should Always Shower After Your Swim — Before Hitting the Sauna
Because your skin (and the collective) will thank you.
At Lemonade Collective, we love the rhythm of a great swim followed by a deeply relaxing sauna session. It’s one of the sweetest rituals we see around here — a little slice of self-care, movement and stillness, all rolled into one.
But there’s one essential step in that routine that often gets overlooked: showering after your swim, before stepping into the sauna.
It might seem like a small thing, but trust us — it makes a big difference. Here’s why:
1. Saltwater = Residue (Even the Good Kind)
Our pool is saltwater-based, which we love for being gentler on skin, eyes, and the environment. But just like ocean water, it leaves a salty film on your skin. When you enter a hot, dry environment like a sauna without rinsing off, that salt can:
Dry out your skin faster
Cause irritation or itchiness
Leave residue behind in the sauna
A quick rinse helps your skin start fresh — and your sauna stay fresh, too.
2. Showers Keep Our Sauna Clean + Comfortable
When we all rinse off before entering the sauna, we help prevent the buildup of:
Body oils
Sweat from your workout or swim
Residue from lotions or hair products
Saltwater traces
Think of it as collective care. A clean sauna = a sweeter experience for everyone.
3. It’s About Respect — For the Space + Each Other
Lemonade Collective isn’t just a fitness facility. It’s a community. The little things — like showering before entering shared spaces (the pool as well) — are part of what keeps that community strong, respectful and sweet.
It shows care for your body, for your environment, and for your fellow members. We’re in this together.
So, next time you head from swim to sauna, take that moment to rinse.
Warm water. A few deep breaths. A short pause in your day.
It’s part of the ritual — and part of the collective experience we’re so proud to share with you.
